It is used in courses of Human Biology, Morphology of Algae, Fungi and Bryophytes, Morphology of Vascular Plants, Plant Physiology, Zoology, Ecology, Genetics, Human Anatomy and Human Physiology.
Table accommodate up to 25 students. It has ovens, herbarium cabinets, compound microscopes and dissecting microscopes.
Nursing Program Auto Tutorial and Skills Laboratory
The purpose of the Auto Tutorial and Nursing Skills Laboratory Program is to allow Nursing Program students to practice and develop their skills in nursing care.
Laboratory of Cell Biology
It has equipment for tissue culture, phase microscope and equipment for microscopic photography and video. It is used in the courses of Molecular Cell Biology and Developmental Biology.
Social Sciences Laboratory
The rooms of the Laboratory of Social Sciences make important experiences possible. The lab provides students with the skills to design, conduct and analyze research, and provides training in descriptive and inferential statistical analysis, among other tools.
Students can conduct interviews and these can be recorded for analysis with the students themselves. Feedback allows students to gain the necessary experience in the techniques of conducting interviews. The arrangement of the physical space, with desks, facilitates the necessary climate and the setting to develop activities related to group dynamics.
It features workbenches for up to 24 students and appropriate equipment for laboratory exercises usually done in physics, including laser beam. It also has three computers for simulations and statistical work. It is used in courses of General Physics.
The University has a large and modern language laboratory in which students can use computerized instructional modules with audio to facilitate the learning of basic linguistic structures and develop the corresponding capacity of language comprehension and expression.
Proper use of this resource allows individualized language training and pays special attention to areas that need further development.
It has tables with enough space for 24 students. It is equipped with immersion objective microscopes, incubators, refrigerator, centrifuges, spectrophotometer, ELISA and tissue processing. It is used in courses of Microbiology, Parasitology, Immunology, Microbial Physiology and Diagnostic Microbiology.
General Chemistry Laboratory
It comprises two adjoining rooms with tables to accommodate students so they can work in pairs. It has extractors, ovens, muffles and a room with analytical and semi-analytical balances on vibration proof tables. It is used in courses of General Chemistry, Principles of General Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry.
Instrumental Chemistry Laboratory
It contains basic instruments used for instrumental chemistry courses, such as: spectrophotometers of visible light, ultraviolet and atomic absorption. It is used in classes of Instrumental Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry. It is also used as a research laboratory for chemistry and biochemistry.
Organic Chemistry Laboratory
It comprises two adjoining rooms with two tables each to accommodate eight students per table. There extractors, oven, scales and ice machine. It is used in the courses of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Human Performance Laboratory
The Human Performance Laboratory, located in the Student Center, has scientific equipment used for measurement and evaluation of the components of physical fitness. It performs laboratory tests to measure muscle strength and endurance (sit-ups, push-ups, dynamometer), body composition, flexibility (sit and reach test), spirometry and cardiovascular stress test. The laboratory also has equipment used in strength training classes and kinesiology (human skeleton, bones, muscles diagram of the human body).
Students majoring in Exercise Program and Health Promotion Sciences take their courses here, using existing resources to implement the theoretical knowledge presented in the courses.
