Eighth Summer Camp in Journalism

Del 2 al 13 de junio de 2025

You will participate in a ten-day learning session with journalists from El Nuevo Día and Primera Hora and teachers from the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón Heart. 

You'll learn:

  • Fundamentals and history of Puerto Rican journalism
  • News writing
  • Conceptualization of journalistic work for publication in print media, on digital platforms, social networks
  • Using mobile tools
  • Techniques for conducting interviews

Requirements:

  • Participants must be high school students who have completed grade 11 or 12
  • Ability to reach Sagrado and/or GFR Media facilities, depending on the day's agenda

The experience includes:

Conferences with GFR Media journalists.
Certificate of participation from GFR Media and the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón Heart.
Three credits that can be validated for a three-credit elective course on Special Topics for students who continue their high school studies at the Ferré Rangel School of Communication at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón Heart.
Direct education and mentoring of reporters, editors, photojournalists and other GFR Media professionals, as well as professors of Journalism, Communication and related disciplines at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón Heart.
