What are the enrollment management hours?
Monday – Thursday: 8:00 am – 5:30 pm

Do I have to be admitted to college before I fill out the FAFSA?
You do not have to be admitted to an institution. You may apply any time beginning January 1 of each year for the following year of study. The college academic year begins July 1 and ends June 30. To receive funds, you must be admitted and enrolled in a college. You must submit the FAFSA annually for each academic year you are interested in qualifying for.
Where can I fill out the application?
Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov. In the upper right corner select the language of your preference. In order to sign the application you must create the FSA ID credential from the Federal Department of Education in www.fsaid.ed.gov for you as a student and for Mom/Dad if you are a dependent student.
When can I start filling out the FAFSA application?
You can apply starting November 1st of each year. It is recommended that you submit your application as early as possible. Aside from the Pell Grant, there are federal and state aids that are distributed in the order in which students' reports are received, subject to the availability of funds.
What documents do I need to complete the FAFSA?
You must have on hand the Income Tax Return filed. If you are not required to file a return, you must have on hand information about income received such as, but not limited to:
- Form W2
- Non-taxable income
- Pensions

Does the University help me complete the FAFSA?
In the Enrollment Management office we have computers available so that students can complete the entire Financial Aid process. If you have any questions about the process, we have a trained team that will help you with any questions or concerns.
How can I find out how much federal aid I'm approved for?
Once the application is submitted, the student receives a “Student Aid Report” (SAR) where in the upper right corner there will be a number next to the initials EFC. This number indicates the family contribution calculated by the Federal Department of Education based on the information provided by the student in his/her application (FAFSA). If it has a zero, it means that the student has received the full annual Pell Grant approved by Congress. After receiving the application with all the steps completed, the university sends the Institution's Offer Letter that will indicate the eligible aid.
What does EFC mean?
This acronym stands for “Expected Family Contribution.” Many states and educational institutions use the information included in the FAFSA application to determine if you are eligible for state and institutional aid.
What happens if my SAR report shows an “*” next to EFC?
This asterisk means that the Federal Department of Education has selected your application for verification. This can also be seen in the comments section of your report. You will receive confirmation of this notification by email. You will be provided with the documents necessary to complete the process according to the required verification. Students must respond to the notification within 5 business days in order to receive their offer letter.
My parents filed a tax return but are currently unemployed, what should I do?
You will complete your application with the information for the year you are requesting in the income section. Then you will be asked if you are a dislocated employee. Here you answer “yes” because you are unemployed at the time you complete your FAFSA.
For how many years can I receive the Pell Grant?
The Pell Grant has a usage limit of 600%. This can be equivalent to up to 6 years of use. You can monitor this percentage in the “National Student Loan Data System” (www.nslds.ed.gov). Access the page with your FSA ID and you will be able to see your Financial Aid history regarding the Pell Grant and Direct Student Loan funds you have received.
What do I do when I access www.nslds.ed.gov?
- You must have your FSA ID on hand. With your credential you can access your personal records.
- Once in the system, choose “Financial Aid Review”
- Read the terms and conditions. If you agree, select “Accept”
- Enter your Social Security number, the first two letters of your last name, your date of birth, and your PIN.
- Make sure, once you see your information, to exit the page by clicking “log off”

What can I do if I have already used 6 years of the Pell Grant?
Fill out the Federal Aid application. Remember that the document is your application for all other federal aid. An ASI officer can guide you. You can also plan to use your loans in the most responsible way so you can graduate.
How can I handle the 6-year limitation?
If you are a 2nd-5th year student, you should visit your counselor as soon as possible. He or she will assist you in determining the credits you need to complete leading up to your degree and in establishing your future study plan, in accordance with the years of Pell Grant eligibility remaining. All students should be aware of the 6-year limitation when evaluating changes in concentration and enrollment.
What is the verification process?
It is a completely common process where the Federal Department of Education requests validation of the information that was provided in the application. There are three types of verification (V1, V4, V5). If you choose verification, the university will notify you by email of the documents you need to submit to complete the process. The verification form is located at my.sagrado. Edu under the Enrollment Management page.
How do I know if I qualify for Work-Study?
ASI evaluates FAFSA applications from students interested in being considered for Work-Study. We check:
- That your EFC is not greater than 5000
- That you have completed the application on or before April 1
- You must have an enrollment of 6 credits or more
- That you have completed the verification process (if you were chosen)
If you are eligible, you will be notified by email of the amount allocated in the Offer Letter and when you must stop by to complete the placement.
Where can I see my account status?
You can view your account status in the Student Portal my.sagrado. Edu. After logging in with your username and password you have to go to the “Student” area and then to “My Account Balance”.
I have a charge that I need explained to me. Where do I go?
If you have questions about your account status, you can stop by ASI so that an officer can help you and guide you on the matter. If you cannot get to the Enrollment Management office, you have the option of sending an email to enrollmentmanagement@sagrado.edu
Student affairs
I need information about student associations, what do I do?
Any student interested in obtaining information about active student associations and how to join them should contact the Vice-Presidency of Student Affairs.
What should I do to create or activate an association?
Article 3 of the Student Regulations stipulates the steps to follow in order to create or activate a student association. Any student interested in creating or activating one will go through the Vice-Presidency of Student Affairs to receive guidance on the procedure established in said Article.
Does the University require all students to have a health insurance plan?
Yes, the Institution requires that all students be covered by a private or government health plan. If they do not have a health plan, they will be covered by the institutional health plan.
Can I use the sports facilities?
Sports facilities have two primary uses within the university environment: academic purposes and sports teams.
This does not mean that the university community cannot use our facilities. If you wish to use the gym and pool for training purposes, you must go to the Athletics Activities Office to register as a user.
I am interested in joining a sports team. Where do I go?
You must stop by the Athletics Activities Office to obtain information about our sports offerings and assistance for these purposes. Office hours are from 8am to 5pm.
I need information about University Residences. What do I do?
You can visit the official website of Sagrado www.sagrado. Edu. Go to Student Life and click on the option for university residences. You can write to us from there or contact us at 787-728-1515 Ext. 7100, 7600. You can also visit us at our facilities and the available staff will answer your questions.
Can I have alcohol in my room in the residence?
It is not permitted to possess or consume alcohol in the Residences or anywhere on campus. It is stipulated in the Alcohol and drug use policy.
Where do I apply for a vehicle access permit to the University?
The vehicle access permit is requested through the Portal, my.sagrado. EduIt can be obtained for the academic year, semester, quarter or summer.
What is the procedure for filing a student matter?
The student who has to present a student matter situation will fill out the Allegation Form in the Vice Presidency of Student Affairs, in my.sagrado. Edu through Campus Life or at sagrado.edu under Online services.
Supporting services
What support services does it offer? Sagrado?
Sagrado offers services Psychological support, spiritual counseling and academic advice for student success and adaptation to university. LServices are offered confidentially and free of charge through the Sofia Center and the Academic Advisory Unit.
Who is my academic advisor?
The academic advisor is the one who helps you establish your academic goals. He or she supports you in the processes to complete the degree in the required time. Every student enrolled in Sagrado has an academic advisor assigned to offer you these services.
I'm not doing well in some class, where do I go?
We suggest first contacting the class teacher to discuss the options for improve your performance in class. If you cannot contact the professor, you should contact your advisor to assist you in the process..
Does the University offer tutoring for students?
Yes! The University offers free tutoring and mentoring through the Title V-HSI Program (Federal Proposal) to students who request such service. You can also call 787-728-1515 ext. 5625. These services are offered mostly by students Seniors, graduates or alumni. You can take advantage of this service to clarify doubts and correct academic gaps in the subjects of English, Spanish, science, mathematics, among others.
Where and when can I receive tutoring services?
The tutorials are located in the third nivthe one in the Library, they also offer virtual service, which you can request via tutorials@sagrado.edu. There is variety of schedules to choose from during the week, each semester. You can call or write to request a copy of the updated schedule by subject and tutor.
What does the Reasonable Accommodation service consist of?
Reasonable accommodation, based on federal and state regulations, refers to the adjustments or modifications that are made in the educational environment so that students with functional diversity receive their academic experience on equal terms and perform activities without major difficulties. It is important to emphasize that reasonable accommodation is not a privilege but a right, so each student must receive the same course content, evaluation standards, and the same experiences as those without reasonable accommodation. However, they will receive reasonable accommodation and/or modification in accordance with the recommendations of their specialist and evaluations from the academic counseling, equity, and accessibility unit.
Who is eligible to receive Reasonable Accommodation services?
What steps should I follow to benefit from the Reasonable Accommodation service?
To request Reasonable Accommodation you must follow these steps:
- Accede to Mi Sagrado with username and password
- Click the Reasonable Accommodation tab
- Complete the entire application online
Also, you will need to upload Mi Sagrado a certification from your health care professional with Reasonable Accommodation recommendations.
What are my responsibilities as a Reasonable Accommodation Service participant?
The student with functional diversity who has requested reasonable accommodation must renew the service on a semester-long basis, since it is a completely free and voluntary process, as established by the ADA Law. In addition, he or she must present his or her signed reasonable accommodation letter to all the professors of that semester and coordinate a meeting to discuss the certified accommodations. In the meeting, health conditions will not be discussed in detail or specified, as established by said law. This is a completely confidential process in which his or her medical evidence is encrypted in a virtual file and secured in person. The young person will have the obligation to make known any inconvenience or situation in this communication process or of manifestations against his or her certified reasonable accommodation.
What are some accommodations that can be considered?
Some examples of reasonable accommodations or modifications in the higher education or post-secondary environment may include: additional time to complete exams and coursework (it is important to discuss with professors how much additional time this will be); reader/note taker services; preferential seating; classroom adjustments; residence hall accommodations; assistive technology equipment; information in accessible formats; materials in electronic format; materials in Braille; materials in large print; dictionary or spell checker; exams in a location with few distractions; oral exams; access to service or emotional support animals; and others, depending on the student's needs.
Student Complaints
I need to file a complaint against a student, what do I do?
You have to go through the Vice Presidency of Student Affairs to present the situation to the Dean.
I need to address a situation that has occurred with a teacher, what do I do?
You must visit the academic unit to which the professor belongs. There you will present the situation to the Services Manager or the Director. You must present evidence of the arrangements you have made with the professor.
I need to report a sexual incident. Where do I go?
Situations of a sexual nature between students or between students and employees are reported to the Title IX Coordinator through denisse.perez@sagrado.edu or 787-728-1515 ext. 5004.
What is Title IX?
Title IX protects all people regardless of gender or sexual orientation from sexual harassment and sexual violence.
What is the University's Alcohol and Drug Use Policy?
This policy prohibits the manufacture, possession, consumption, sale, and distribution of illegal drugs on University property and at official off-campus activities. It also prohibits the possession, consumption, or being under the influence of alcoholic beverages on University property.
Courses and Academic Management
Where can I find my study plan?
The study plan can be found on the portal of my.sagrado. Edu with academics.
To modify my class schedule, what do I do?
You can visit Academic Management or call our offices at 787 728 1515 ext. 5422 and 5423.
Where can I find the academic calendar?
The academic calendar can be found on the portal of my.sagrado. Edu with Academics.
Where do I see my grades?
I see the notes on the portal at my.sagrado. Edu with Student Services on the icon that says My Grades o My unofficial transcript.
If the course is in progress you can see the progress on the platform. canvas.
How do I file a grade claim?
Sagrado There is an official procedure for claiming grades. This procedure consists of three possible stages: review, reconsideration and appeal. You can request the official guide through your academic unit.
How do I declare a minor concentration?
You must first visit your academic advisor for guidance. The minor concentration is declared on the portal my.sagrado. Edu with Student Services, in the icon that says Student Forms & Requests, icon identified as Minor Concentration.
How do I process course replacements?
Course substitution is processed on the portal my.sagrado. Edu with Student Services on the icon that says Student Forms & Requests.
How do I process course validation?
- If the validation is for an exchange, it is processed through the Center for Professional and International Experiences.
- If the student is a transfer student, work is done through the Admissions Office.
I don't see the courses that have been validated on the portal. What should I do?
Check with the Registry Office to see if the original transcript has arrived to complete the validation.
How do I request a validation review?
For a validation review, you must visit the Registry office and fill out the validation review form. An officer will evaluate your request and you will receive a response to your institutional email.
How do I request a transcript of credits?
Active students can request a transcript of credits as follows:
- Access the portal (my.sagrado.edu)
- Link name “transcripts online”
Students who are not active can request a transcript of credits as follows:

How do I apply for graduation?

I'm having problems with my email, what do I do?
If you cannot access, you must contact the Information Technology and Integrated Technologies (ITI) office at 787-728-1515 ext. 3576 or by sending an email from your personal account to misagrado@sagrado.edu with the following information:

I have problems with my access codes, what do I do?
The first thing you should try is to recover your password using the FORGOT MY PASSWORD option in the menu. my.sagrado. Edu

I need to create or improve my resume, where can I get help?
The Center for Professional and International Experiences (Sagrado Careers) Sagrado offers a set of services to contribute to your professional development and increase your employability. All services are free of charge for active students and graduates and include: advice on preparing and updating resumes, thank you letters, trends and labor demand by industry, professional guides by industry (Vault®), letters of intent and other professional presentation documents, practice of simulated job interviews (Mock Interviews), access to the opportunity search platform and resources Sagrado Careers, advice on optimizing your professional profile such as LinkedIn, advice on creating your online portfolio, access to employers on campus, holding a Job Fair every semester, among other professional preparation and development services.
I got a job interview, does the University help me to be well prepared?
Yes, you must make an appointment with a career advisor at the Center for Professional and International Experiences (Sagrado Careers) to practice your mock job interviews. You can schedule your appointment through Sagrado Careers or by calling 787-728-1515, extensions 5330, 5613 and 5632.
How do I get an appointment to be guided through the services of Sagrado Careers?
You can arrange an individual appointment with a career advisor through the Center for Professional and International Experiences or by calling 787-728-1515, extensions 5330, 5613 and 5632. Your appointment for counseling can be in person or through the Zoom online platform. Discuss this option with your career advisor.
