José Manuel Lozano Rivera is Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Assistant Professor of the General Education Unit. His areas of expertise are strategic planning, public policy analysis, university access, communication, and philanthropy. His research and public presentations revolve around issues of child poverty, structural state violence, Third Sector intervention, social contract, rights and responsibilities, and equity. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of California, Los Angeles. Universidad del Sagrado Corazón Corazón, as well as a Master's Degree in Social Sciences with a Specialization in Public Administration from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. His professional career includes being Program Director and Administration Manager of the Kinesis Foundation, as well as Senior Program Officer of the Banco Popular Foundation, among other positions.
