Ana Rebecca Campos, Ph.D.

She is a Puerto Rican with a Doctorate in Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cultural Studies from Ana G. Méndez University (UAGM), in Gurabo. Her graduate research is entitled: Los rastros y la persistencia del colonialismo en la identidad del puertorriqueño entre finales del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX: una perspectiva teórica. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico and a Master’s degree in Art with a concentration in Product Design from the Domus Academy in Milan, Italy. Campos served as Program Director in the Department of Design and Architecture of the Academic Division of Engineering, Design and Architecture at UAGM, Gurabo.

As a product designer she has exhibited her pieces, among them; Malabares, espejo y lámpara, which was presented at Proyecto Local gallery in Cupey, Puerto Rico and was selected as a finalist for the 5th Iberoamerican Design Biennial at Matadero Madrid, ES. His research entitled ‘Language Games’ based on the exploration of the misinterpretation of language reflected in a collection of everyday objects was exhibited at La Productora gallery located in Santurce, PR and his design proposal EL01, object of light was exhibited at the Museum of Art and Design of Miramar (MADMI).

She has written articles on various topics related to architecture, design and culture such as; Islafobia in Puerto Rico (2018), La cinematografía-expuesta en la pasarela de Nono Maldonado; De la escena a la estampa (2021) and La construcción del miedo a través de la presencia de Islafobia en refranes puertorriqueños, in the magazine Reverso (2021).
