Mara Pastor is a Puerto Rican poet, editor, and professor. She is the author of several poetry collections, including Deuda Natal (The University of Arizona Press, 2021), translated by María José Giménez and Anna Rosenwong, which was selected for the 2020 Ambroggio Prize awarded by The Academy of American Poets. As an editor, she prepared the selection and prologue for the anthology A toda costa: narrativa puertorriqueña reciente (Elefanta Editorial, 2018). She holds a B.A. in Hispanic Studies from the University of Puerto Rico, an M.A. in Literature from the University of Notre Dame, and a Ph.D. in Literature from the University of Michigan. Recently, her poems have been published in magazines such as Gatopardo, Latin American Literature Today, and World Literature Today, among others. She is currently a professor and academic leader of the Creative Writing and Literature Program at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón.
