FAQs
These are programs that allow students to integrate studies at institutions abroad with their academic career.
In today's globalized society, international experiences have become an indispensable requirement for entering the labor market. The programs are designed to add value to the student's academic, linguistic, professional and personal development.
Each USC student who meets the approved averages and credits required by the different programs and completes the application processes
The Office of Internationalization and Interuniversity Relations provides guidance to students on the different programs, taking into account the interests and needs of each student through international diagnostics, individual consultations and semester-long orientation activities.
Necessary documentation and other requirements:

- Participate in the Information session on studying abroad
- Application via TRM
- Complete the nomination process which requires planning at least one month prior to the application deadline. (Includes three to five individualized counseling sessions with the Internationalization Office staff.)
- Table for validating courses
- Evidence of submission of scholarship application for study abroad (only programs outside the US) or Essay (only programs in the US)
- Copy of ID / Passport
- Student mobility fee payment receipt ($200) - NON-REFUNDABLE
- English Language Proficiency Report (only for programs in non-Spanish speaking countries)
- Language certificate (only if the program of interest requests evidence of proficiency in a language other than Spanish or English)
Required Essay
Choose a of the following three topics and write an essay reflecting your thoughts on the topic. The essay must include references and be written in English.
Themes:
- How will studying abroad help you achieve your professional, personal and academic goals?
- Why did you choose this program and country?
- What aspects of studying abroad do you expect to find most challenging? What knowledge, skills, and experiences will you use to meet these challenges?
Requirements
- Comply with the COVID-19 vaccine standard
- Be an active student, enrolled full-time at USC
- Have a GPA of 3.00 or higher
- Take and pass in Sagrado a minimum of 24 academic credits before being nominated
- Attend an information session on studying abroad
The nomination process requires planning at least one month prior to the application deadline. This includes three to five individualized counseling sessions with staff from the Internationalization and Interuniversity Relations Office.
Deadlines
Second semester 2024-2025
- All programs - September 30, 2024
Academic year 2025-2026, summer 2025 and first semester 2025
- NSE - USA and Canada - February 25, 2025
- Other programs - March 30, 2025
Financial Topics
For all students who go on a bilateral exchange, Plan B exchange with NSE, or YWMC exchange:
- Registration and institutional fees are paid in Sagrado In most cases.
- The costs of accommodation, food, etc., are paid at the foreign university.
- Any financial aid you have in Sagrado can be applied to studies abroad.
For all students who go on exchange on a summer program, tuition and fees are paid directly to the program abroad.
