Professor Agda Cordero earned, with honors, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics, both from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus.

She has more than 40 years of experience as a professor in the Computer cience Program, where she has distinguished herself by teaching courses in programming, web design, web programming, mobile application development, operating systems, systems simulation, and related fields. She also has extensive experience in online teaching and in developing review systems to help students prepare for examinations.

Between 2019 and 2025, she was the principal investigator for the Increasing Student Success in STEM project, sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF). She also serves as a mentor to two student organizations: the Informatics Society and the Women in Science Student Association.

In 2025, she was recognized by Universidad del Sagrado Corazón for her innovative use of technology in education.
