The Language Center provides a space for the entire Sagrado community interested in developing their communication skills and opening themselves up to other cultures. It is part of the General Education Unit.
The Language Center has a team of language specialists in Spanish, English, Portuguese, and French. It provides support with General Communication (GCM) courses in English and Spanish, concentration courses in both languages (Spanish and English), and foreign language courses (German, French, Italian, Mandarin, and Portuguese).
Additionally, the following services are offered:
- individualized support to enhance communication
- advice on writing and proofreading
- development of oral communication
- cultural events in foreign languages
- collaborative workspace equipped with computers
- workshops and talks for the community of Sagrado
- design of micro-workshops for courses
- Guidance on language proficiency certifications (please apply 3 weeks in advance)
- spaces that meet the requirements of Duolingo English Test

About the Duolingo English Test
Throughout his career in the Universidad del Sagrado CorazónStudents participate in English communication courses (GCM). Through these experiences, in which they discuss and work on various topics in English, they progressively develop their command of the language.
English proficiency can be measured using different scales, including the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), which classifies proficiency levels into six levels, from A1 to C2.
The Duolingo English Test (DET) is one of the exams that allows you to determine your level of English proficiency and establish its equivalence with the CEFR levels. Having a result expressed on this scale allows students to communicate their language skills using an internationally recognized benchmark, beyond the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón.
Proficiency level certification requires a rigorous evaluation process that ensures the reliability and quality of the results, which in turn demands specific technical conditions. To ensure that factors such as a lack of a suitable location or a stable internet connection do not limit access to the DET (Digital Exam Test), the Language Center offers rooms that meet all the requirements for taking the exam.
