SECURITY ALERT

The Jeanne Clery Act requires all higher education institutions participating in federal financial aid programs to report to the university community any criminal incidents that occur in or on campus property.

In compliance with this federal regulation, we hereby notify that, on the evening of Monday, October 7, 2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m., on Bouret Street outside the campus, an individual fired shots at building 455 B, which serves as a residence for student athletes of the university. No students were injured. However, as a preventive measure, students will be relocated to other residences and surveillance in the area will be reinforced.

The Comprehensive Security and Risk Management Unit is addressing the situation together with the Puerto Rico Police. Our commitment is to maintain a safe environment and to guide students, employees, residents and visitors regarding their safety.
