Dr. Alexandra Rivera González holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Department of Psychology at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, with a specialty in the area of ​​Academic Investigative Psychology. Her doctoral dissertation entitled Strategies for the development of metacognition in an Introduction to Psychology course at the University of Puerto Rico (2021) explored the impact of implementing four curricular strategies on academic progress, performance level, and metacognition in students at the Río Piedras Campus. 

She completed her undergraduate studies in the area of ​​Natural Sciences with a concentration in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico, Cayey Campus. She has teaching experience in research methodology in the field of psychology. She has worked on various research projects and has presented her work in local and international academic forums. Her areas of research interest are: trauma-informed approach at the level of organizational structure, metacognition, and human learning and development. Currently, Dr. Rivera González collaborates with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the University of Puerto Rico, Cayey Campus. Universidad del Sagrado Corazón Heart.
