Professor Santiago holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Community and Family and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, both degrees from the Interamerican University, Arecibo Campus. She has over 20 years of clinical experience, including case management, neonatal care, hemodialysis care, and ocular surgery. Her interests focus on providing care, support, and assistance to disadvantaged communities within society. Her specialty courses are physical assessment, community health, fundamentals of nursing, pharmacology, mental health, maternity, and administration and supervision.
Her professional credentials include her license as a graduate nurse and the Professional Certification in Service-Learning Methodology. In 2022, she participated in the convention of the Mexican Association for International Education, AC (AMPEI), to promote curricular internationalization among universities in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. She currently collaborates with the integration of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) between universities in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Sagrado and the participating institutions of the Autonomous University of the West in Mexico and Columbia University in New York.
