
Carmen R. Marin
Guest lecturer for the course ECT 612 Poetry Workshop
Carmen R. Marín is one of twenty Puerto Rican writers awarded in 2021 with the Letras Boricuas prize awarded by the Flamboyán Foundation and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. She has published Escape rescuer (Erizo Editorial, 2013), Cosmogonies and other salts (Corpus Publishing House, 2014 and Emerging Education Publishing House, 2019) and Bedridden (Trabalis Editores, 2020). Between 2015 and 2017 she was the Coordinator of Non-Serial Publications of the Editorial of the Puerto Rican Institute of Culture. She currently works as a professor in the Master's program in Creative Writing at the Puerto Rican Institute of Culture. Universidad del Sagrado Corazón Corazón and as an independent editor and proofreader. She holds a bachelor's degree in Hispanic Studies from the UPR in Mayagüez and a master's degree in Spanish from Binghamton University (State University of New York), in addition to having completed the courses leading to a doctorate in Hispanic Language and Literature at Stony Brook University (SUNY Stony Brook).
