José Borges is the author of short stories, novels, literary reviews and plays. He holds a master's degree in Creative Writing with a concentration in Narrative of SagradoHe is the author of the novels That old sadness, published in 2010 and selected as the best novel of that year by the PEN Club of Puerto Rico, Fortaleza, published in 2013 and Cassandra learns to fly, published in 2022. In 2018, the SM publishing house published her youth novel The last hours of Otí and the story “The Red Rubber Boots,” in the anthology Time Capsules, which contains stories related to Hurricane Maria. His writings have appeared in the main newspapers, magazines and anthologies of Puerto Rico. “Santurtzi”, “El otoño final”, “Como en París”, “Tres meses con Gary” and “Langosta blanca” are some of his most praised stories. With “El cuarto caballo”, he won first place in the Second World Championship of Oral Storytelling. Borges also works as an independent collaborator, offers writing and narrative workshops, and is the creator of the podcast “In media res”, in which he interviews Spanish-speaking authors about their most recent works.
