The professor holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Mental Health and Psychiatry from the School of Nursing at the Medical Sciences Campus of the University of Puerto Rico. She is currently working on her doctoral dissertation, titled "Teaching Strategies and Methods to Promote Empathy in Nursing Students: A Blended Learning Study." She also serves as the project director for the HRSA grant, which provides funding to students from disadvantaged backgrounds to ensure their education and graduation and to increase diversity in the health professions and the nursing workforce.Lourdes Ramos Ramos is an assistant professor in the Nursing Program of the Department of Natural Sciences. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Nursing Science from the School of Nursing of the Medical Sciences Campus of the University of Puerto Rico and a Master's degree in Nursing Science with a specialty in Mental Health and Psychiatry from the School of Nursing of the Medical Sciences Campus of the University of Puerto Rico. Throughout her professional career, she has excelled in various roles within her specialty, from direct care in a Psychiatric Emergency Room in the United States to Director of Nursing at a private psychiatric hospital. She has been an evaluator at the Board of Post-Secondary Institutions. She collaborates with the Dr. Ramón Fernández Marina Hospital (State Psychiatry) offering training to staff and with the Department of Health in health promotion activities.
