The Master of Science in Applied Neuroscience is distinguished by its multidisciplinary approach, which integrates neuroscience with areas such as computer science, communication, business administration, human resources, psychology, and human performance. The program combines theory and practice, developing skills in programming, neural network modeling, data analysis, and neurotechnology applied to decision-making, communication, and the biomedical field.

The program includes applied research, project-based learning, and the use of specialized digital tools such as computer simulations, advanced statistical analysis, and emerging technologies. Designed in a hybrid format, the master's program incorporates both in-person and virtual learning experiences, offering an innovative academic experience aligned with the principles of humanistic education, academic excellence, and community impact at Sagrado.

Curriculum

To complete the Master of Science in Applied Neuroscience, students take 11 courses. The program includes courses that integrate in-person computational learning at the School of Health and Sciences to strengthen applied computational skills.

Duration and modality

The Master of Science in Applied Neuroscience program consists of 33 credits, completed over five trimesters, including the thesis. All courses are delivered online with synchronous sessions (hybrid virtual format). This means that half of the academic experience is asynchronous, through content and assignments on the Canvas learning platform, and the other half is synchronous, through virtual meetings via Zoom. Classes meet via videoconference in the evening, starting at 6:00 p.m. (Puerto Rico time).

During the first and second trimesters, two courses requiring in-person attendance are included, for up to 10 hours each, and will be coordinated by the course instructors. All in-person visits will be scheduled for weekends (Thursday to Sunday) in the afternoon.

Admission requirements

This program adheres to institutional admission requirements. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline from an accredited institution. A minimum of three credits in biology and three credits in mathematics are required for admission. For students whose academic background does not include science training, a series of preparatory biology and mathematics courses will be offered prior to the start of the academic term to which they have been admitted.
