Mara Pastor is a Puerto Rican poet, editor, and professor. Pastor is the author of several collections of poetry, including Deuda Natal (The University of Arizona Press, 2021), translated by María José Giménez and Anna Rosenwong, which was selected for the 2020 Ambroggio Prize awarded by The Academy of American Poets. As an editor, she prepared the selection and prologue for the anthology A toda costa: narrativa puertorriqueña seguido (Elefanta Editorial, 2018). She holds a bachelor's degree in Hispanic Studies from the University of Puerto Rico, a master's degree in Literature from the University of Notre Dame, and a doctorate in Literature from the University of Michigan. Recently, her poems have appeared in magazines such as Gatopardo, Latin American Literature Today, and World Literature Today, among others. She is currently a professor and academic leader of the Creative Writing and Literature Program at the University of Arizona Press. Universidad del Sagrado Corazón Heart.
