María V. Vera Hernández holds a PhD in Education and Social Communication from the University of Málaga, a Master's degree in Writing for the Media from the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón and a bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Puerto Rico. She has worked as a journalist since 1996, in both electronic and print media. She has covered important news sources, including the Legislative Assembly and La Fortaleza (the Governor's Mansion). In 2009, she joined academia as a Journalism professor and is currently the Dean of the Ferré Rangel School of Communication at the University of Puerto Rico. Universidad del Sagrado Corazón.
