Ojel L. Rodríguez Burgos, Ph.D., FRHistS, AKC, is an Assistant Professor in the International Studies and Global Communication Program at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of St Andrews, where he completed a dissertation on Kenneth Minogue, following graduate studies at King's College London (AKC) and University College London in International Relations and Political Thought.
His research interests include intellectual history, the history of modern political thought, conservatism, the concept of ideology, political theory, and international politics. Dr. Rodríguez also serves as a Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute of Intellectual History at the University of St Andrews and teaches in the Master's Program in International Relations at the Center for Advanced Studies of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
In 2026, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society (FRHistS) in recognition of his contributions to intellectual history and the history of modern political thought. He is currently completing a book based on his doctoral dissertation while pursuing additional research projects on the political thought of George F. Will, global communications in a multipolar world, the United States in the Caribbean, and the history of ideas and intellectuals in Puerto Rico.
Dr. Rodríguez has published scholarly and public-facing work in outlets including Forbes, Law & Liberty, The European Conservative, Journal of Political Ideologies, Cosmos + Taxis, History of European Ideas, Quadrant, and Society, among others.
