Dr. René R. Barguez Pérez holds two bachelor's degrees, one in Advertising and the second in Business Communications with a minor in Public Relations. He completed a Master's degree in Marketing and later a PhD in Business Administration where he focused his research on Responsible Advertising and the impact on Brand Perception.
Since 2014 he has served as a professor of marketing, advertising and brand development at the graduate and undergraduate levels at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, the University of Puerto Rico, the Ana G. Méndez University and since 2020 at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón Corazón, where he currently serves as Academic Leader of the Master of Science in Digital Marketing.
He belongs to the American Marketing Association (AMA), the Association for Sales and Marketing Executives (SME), the Digital Marketing Institute (DMI) and has served as a member of the board of directors of the Puerto Rico Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (PRASBE).
Due to a particular interest in market intelligence and changes in industry dynamics, he has completed several certifications: Professional Certified Marketer awarded by the American Marketing Association, Digital Marketing Analytics awarded by MIT Sloan School of Management and Certified Digital Marketing Professional awarded by the Digital Marketing Institute.
