The Master's program in Public Relations and Integrated Communication is a postgraduate program for students of Communication, Marketing, Advertising or Journalism, as well as for anyone seeking to reinvent themselves in an essential profession in the business world. It prepares students with an entrepreneurial mindset to solve communication problems in the global, interconnected, diverse and changing environment of organizations. The curriculum develops skills to assume leadership in holistic communication, content writing on multiple platforms, research, legal aspects and ethical dilemmas, management of issues, crises and reputation, as well as the interdisciplinary strategic approach in the planning, implementation and evaluation of integrated public relations and communication plans aligned with organizational goals in projects close to work experience.
Upon completion of the program, graduates can undertake to face challenges with innovative solutions, manage their employability, work as consultants or work in public relations and strategic and integrated communication, reputation management and manage the internal and external communication of the organization.

Curriculum

Public relations and integrated communication courses are integrated into the curriculum, combining both visions (integrated communication with an emphasis on the field of public relations). This master's degree does not require a thesis to complete the degree; the student completes a public relations and integrated communication plan. It is a professional master's degree with a methodological component that encourages practice and projects.

The master's degree also offers graduate students the option of obtaining a professional public relations license from the Department of State of Puerto Rico, which authorizes them to perform the functions of the profession.

Integration of professional certifications into the graduate program

Modern public relations require strategic management of brands' presence on social media to develop digital public relations campaigns, position and achieve recognition, as well as connect with clients and prospects. Therefore, Sagrado The company has integrated the professional certification from Meta in Social Media Marketing into the master's curriculum, which you will take in conjunction with your classes through the Coursera platform. The certification consists of six asynchronous courses and through it you will learn to establish an online presence, create posts, increase followers, and manage social media accounts through which you will market your clients' brands. You will also develop skills in creating and managing advertising campaigns on social media and learn to evaluate the results of your marketing actions.

Upon successful completion of both programs, you will receive your Master's diploma from Sagrado and the Meta certificate that accredits you as a Facebook and Coursera Digital Marketing Associate. Both credentials will help you undertake to face challenges with innovative solutions, manage your employability, act as consultants or work in public relations and strategic and integrated communication functions, reputation management and manage the internal and external communication of the organization.

Duration and modality

The Master of Arts in Public Relations and Integrated Communication consists of 24 credits to be completed in 4 quarters. All courses are offered remotely with synchronous interactions (virtual hybrid mode), which means that part of the experience is asynchronous through content and assignments through the Canvas educational platform, and the other part is synchronous through virtual meetings via ZOOM. Courses meet via videoconference at night (starting at 6:00 pm Puerto Rico time). Others are by arrangement and meet on previously agreed-upon days also via videoconference.
