Yamil Samalot Rivera, OP, is an Assistant Professor in the School of General Education. His areas of expertise are theology, literature, and languages. His research, academic lectures, and critical publications focus on the dialogue between dogmatic theology and Brazilian and Caribbean postmodern art. He is a member of the Latin American and Caribbean Association of Theology and Literature (ALALITE). He holds a Bachelor's degree in Comparative Literature from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus, as well as a Master's and a Doctorate in Luso-Brazilian Studies from Brown University (Rhode Island, USA). He also holds two Master's degrees in Theology: one in Ministry (MDiv) from the Central University of Bayamón, and another in Dogmatic Theology from the Pontifical Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia. He is a Catholic priest and a member of the Order of Preachers (Dominicans).
