Noemi Soto Nieves, Ph.D.

Noemí Soto Nieves is Assistant Professor in the Department of Natural Sciences. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Biotechnology from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus and a Doctorate in Biomedical Sciences specializing in Genetics, Molecular Cell Biology and Immunology from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

His multidisciplinary education has allowed him to teach more than 20 different courses at the undergraduate level from basic Biologies to advanced Biologies such as Molecular Cellular, Genetics, Immunology, Microbiology and proposal writing. She worked as a research professor at the University of Puerto Rico, Humacao Campus and the Ana G. Mendez University, Cupey Campus, where for four consecutive years she received federal funds from PR-INBRE to conduct research on innovative therapies for cancer treatments. Its research students have been accepted in Graduate Schools in Puerto Rico and the United States to continue studies in Medicine, Pharmacy and Research. Currently, his research is aimed at studying fecal coliform contamination in the Caño Martin Peña in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
